Apartments Sublease

Arranging a sublease is a common solution when tenants are forced to leave their apartments before their lease term ends. Tenants often sublease their apartments when work, school, travel, or other reasons take them away from their apartments for a long period of time. Instead of leaving their apartments empty or breaking their lease contract, renters often choose to sublease their apartments to third parties who live in and pay rent for the apartment in their absence. The terms of a sublease vary between apartments, and some landlords may have their own provisions and requirements. Laws differ by jurisdiction, but generally to sublease most apartments, tenants must notify the landlord of their intent to sublease and the landlord must first give consent before a sublease contract can be signed. A landlord is generally allowed by law to ask for additional information in order to make a decision on the sublease.
