House Rental Agreements

House rental agreements are rental agreements that specifically pertain to renting a residential house, as opposed to an apartment, condo, or other property. A house may be rented for a set period of time, in which case a lease agreement is usually signed. The agreement will detail the terms of the rental agreement. A house may also be rented on a month-to-month basis. Verbal rental agreements are sometimes used to rent a house, though verbal agreements can be risky for all parties involved and are generally not recommended. Written rental agreements may include details outlining who is responsible for maintenance of the house, and the proper procedure to report any needed repairs to the house. Landscaping duties may be the responsibility of either the tenant or the landlord, depending on the rental agreement. Rental agreements may also specify what changes can and cannot be made to the house by the tenant. This could include rules regarding painting or wallpapering or changes to the flooring or fixtures.
