Room Rental Agreements

Room rental agreements are used when renting out an individual room. Examples of people who might use room rental agreements include homeowners wishing to rent out an extra bedroom in their home, college students living together in a shard house or apartment, or vacationers renting a room in a cottage or bed and breakfast establishment. Room rental agreements can be fixed term lease agreements lasting six months to a year or more, or they can be short term agreements lasting as little as twenty four hours. Some room rental agreements may be renewed on a week to week or month to month basis, and may continue for an indefinite amount of time, until either the tenant or landlord wishes to terminate the agreement. A room rental agreement does not have to be in writing unless it is for a period of a year or more, though oral agreements may cause difficulties and confusion in the event of a rental dispute.
