Sublet House

When a renter must leave his or her house before their lease term ends, they may choose to sublet the house in order to avoid any penalties that may occur from ending their lease early. A tenant may choose to sublet an entire house to just one person, or in the case of a multi bedroom house, multiple people may sublet the property. Laws may vary according to the location of the property and the specific lease terms, however generally a tenant must notify the landlord or owner of the house and request permission to sublet the house. The landlord may then take time to review the details of the sublet arrangement and ask for more information if necessary before consenting to or denying the sublet. If the landlord consents to the sublet, the original tenant is still responsible for all of the original lease terms. The sublessee pays rent to the original tenant, who then pays that rent to the landlord.
